I Love Labor Day!It’s a turnaround time for the year. Our dreadfully hot summer is almost over. We have a bit more heat which ends the first week of October and a few more wonderfully cloudy storms. Friends who escaped for summer are coming back. It’s the last time to fertilize our big plants before ‘winter’, and the time to pick the winter garden small plants like petunias. It’s TURNAROUND! Travel SketchingSummer teaching was fun and exhausting with all the travel. Northwest Art School in Coupeville, Lakewood in Lake Oswego and Sunriver near Bend were all great locations with marvelous people learning. We’re just getting old for this format. We will teach live in Tucson (see October 5, 6, 7), and by on lines with ZOOM. Susan plans great things with subscriptions, coming very soon. I do hope someone will come forward to teach Pocket Sketching live nationally. It’s tremendously rewarding personally and can be very rewarding financially. Travel Rewards An unexpected travel reward was staying in the new Marriott Hotel in Redmond, Oregon, Room 5. That room is right over the beginning of a massive irrigation system that follows a natural stream bed. I love to sketch water, so here are two sketches. I could have stayed several days just to sketch the rushing water. Upcoming WorkshopsBasic Workshop - Home Studio October 5, 6, 7 10 am to 4 pm $400 Basic Kit Supplies Included Happy Sketching! |
